Our Focus

Buie Stoddard Group has a history of broad-based real estate development and investment.  Over the past 40 years, the company has generated billions in revenues from over one hundred projects.  We have acquired and developed dozens of income-producing properties, 10,000 residential lots and 6,000 homes.

Geographic Focus

One of the company’s core business strategies is to use its deep knowledge of local markets and product expertise to acquire and develop commercial properties in limited key geographic regions, primarily Orange, Riverside, and San Diego counties. . 

The Founders

  • Robert F. Buie (deceased), Founding Principal

    Since the founding of BSG more than four decades ago, Robert Buie provided inspirational leadership and deep interpersonal relationships that define our company.  Mr. Buie was instrumental in the development of high-profile, master-planned communities and commercial projects.  Formerly a senior officer of a publicly held development company, he formed the Buie Stoddard Group of companies in 1983.  Mr. Buie received an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a Civil Engineering degree from Virginia Polytechnical Institute.

  • Jeffry L. Stoddard, Founding Principal

    Jeff Stoddard has extensive experience in land development, homebuilding, and income property development.  Mr. Stoddard received bachelor’s degrees in Business and Accounting from the University of Idaho and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.  Prior to co-founding the Buie Stoddard Group of companies, he held positions at a publicly held development company and a large money-center bank.  Mr. Stoddard’s investment and development activities also include his Boise, Idaho-focused firm, Stoddard Property Investments.

  • James M. Saivar, Founding Principal

    Jim Saivar has been the visionary leading the design, planning, and marketing of thousands of residential units in master-planned communities throughout Southern California.  Mr. Saivar graduated from California State University at Northridge with a degree in Business Administration.  He has received numerous awards for marketing excellence over the past two decades and is recognized as a leader in residential marketing.

    Jeffry L. Stoddard, President

  • Brandon Valanty, Vice President of Finance / Controller

    Brandon Valanty oversees all financial and administrative aspects of the business and drives the company’s financial strategy, planning, reporting and investment opportunities.  He is also responsible for debt management, investor relations, acquisitions and dispositions, and financial modeling.  Mr. Valanty brings 20-plus years of broad-ranging industry experience to BSG including debt and equity, asset management, receiverships, acquisitions and dispositions.  He holds an MBA in Finance from University of North Texas and a BBA in Finance from Texas Christian University.

  • Zachary Stoddard, Vice President of Leasing and Asset Management

    Zack Stoddard is responsible for project management and lease-up of new developments.  After graduating from the University of Puget Sound, he began his real estate career by working in market research and property management, then transitioned to brokerage at one of Idaho’s top firms, Thornton Oliver Keller (TOK), prior to joining Buie Stoddard Group.  Zack has extensive experience in office and industrial leasing and sales.

  • Robert Montgomery, Planning and Entitlements

    Bob Montgomery is responsible for project entitlement and governmental relations.  Mr. Montgomery has been with Buie Stoddard Group for more than 30 years.  His experience includes planning, zoning, and development-permit entitlements for more than 10,000 homes and millions of square feet of retail, office, apartment, and hospitality projects.  Mr. Montgomery is a graduate of the University of California, Irvine and has been working on planning and real estate development since 1973.

  • Andrea Manning, Leasing and Special Projects

    Andrea Manning has more than 20 years of experience managing and leasing portfolios of retail, office, and mixed-use properties.  A graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Ms. Manning has held positions at CBRE and Burnham USA Equities prior to joining Buie Stoddard Group.

  • Jackie Jensen, Administrative Manager

    Jackie Jensen, a Vassar College graduate with over 20 years of organizational and problem-solving experience, supports senior leadership in overseeing daily operations at Buie Stoddard Group.
